Abstract
This paper examines the effects of private health insurance on hospitals in terms of the revenue, quality of health care, and the autonomy of physicians in Korea. We expect that large hospitals will have the positive effects of the private health insurance on the revenue and the quality of health care, but negative effects on the autonomy of physician. On the
other hands small hospitals are not likely to get the positive effects on the revenue and the quality of health care.
